1. ru'ut - prevent someone from leaving
(as to beg someone to stay)

  • ngeru'ut kuman tungey deletuh - don't let them go without something to eat
ruten - persuaded to stay
  • dih men deteluh da'at ruten keneh, iih ngelaak ngen deteluh na'an - they can't be persuaded to stay, don't know who's going to cook for them
renu'ut -
  • renu'ut kuh tebeyk deteluh, useb ayuq teh deteluh laq muliq - I did try to persuade them to stay, but they were determined to go home
2. ru'ut - to clench or hold in a tight grip
(as a dog clench it's victim, preventing escape)
